Assigning different permissions for different ShortPoint Users

The issue that the client is facing is that designers are seeing the yellow “upgrade available” notice in ShortPoint, and then going to upgrade the site without the SharePoint admin’s knowledge.

This causes issues because the administration team doesn’t get a chance to test the new version before it gets deployed.

Examples of permission levels:

  • Content Editor: can only modify text elements (v2)

  • Designer: can modify webparts on sites that he has edit permission on.

  • Site Admin: can upgrade sites that he’s assigned as admin on.

  • Global Admin: has full permissions.
